Cherry Blossom is 20 Years Old

 

L’Orca left Italy for Cleveland, OH in the middle of 2003. The lyrics changed from Italian to English. Country music gave him the understanding of American culture, made of love for the country and for the family and good time with friends and relatives.

The sound evolved gradually; from electronic drums accompanying acoustic ballads to electronic insertions and noises crossing the path traced by the words in the new work "Cherry blossom", released in 2005, consisting in two sub-projects: Indian summer and Turning leaves and it features Gabry as lead guitar on the two tracks, Squeaky Wheel and LTW, Crystal as backing vocal on Angle blue eyes and LTW and AJ as rap singer in In my house.

 

While L’Orca was composing folk ballads in USA, Leo was transforming the sound using any type of instruments, made available by computer programs.

The Album was written between March 2003 and April 2004 and recorded between April 2004 and November 2005. It is presented in two parts: Indian Summer, more similar to the previous activity as Gli alberi (acoustic guitars on electronic drum beats), and Turning Leaves where Leo started experimenting with the wide range of electronic tools available with the computer. All the tracks are stories of life. The contact with the Cleveland music scene has had significant consequences on L’Orca's singing style and to the entire sound of the group. The work of L’Orca and Leo at opposite ends of the ocean, has led to a mix of different musical impressions and musical compositions, influenced by two different cultures.
