Well Rounded, the new CD from The Trees

The new project from the Trees was written, composed and recorded remotely. L’Orca was living in Cleveland, working with Chris and collaborating with local artists (Jenny and Myke are two of them). Leo, working from the old continent continued his music with their old vibes and friends (Gabry, for example).

With the exception of a couple of tracks (6 years ago and Stealer), painting out the point of arrival and continuing the train of thought, the album tells different moments of the Cleveland life. The Mid West can be the Paese dei Balocchi (Amusement Park) of Pinocchio, where people get lost in a bubble of soap, so beautifully sparkling and shining, but short lived. A place where everybody who is an adult, is also young and childish and nobody ever grows old, a place where everything is possible. Ukalevelender, Little 20, Just once?, Niagara and Easy love hotel talk about this... Living in one of the poorest cities of USA.

A couple of songs were written or dedicated to friends: Broken - featuring Gabry from Godiva, was written for Bally (may his soul rest in peace). Country bar is a song dedicated to L’Orca’s friend Kent, for the good times spent together learning Spanish and watching two step dances.

The music turns back to the origins of the band and the sound becomes once again rough. The good old rock that the band has played over time, is now mixed with electronic and is sometimes faking resonances that are of the old rock school but, this time, made with electronic instruments. Due to the fact that most of the songs were born acoustically, some of the original instruments have been kept to smooth over the recordings.

This is a step backward to the original sound of the band, but it also carries over everything that was explored and experienced during the years of work together.
