September 2006: The Trees Present East West Center World

The Trees are pleased to present their new CD East West Center World. The album is entirely in English and is the prelude to their new CD Well Rounder which is soon to be released. The work consists of eight tracks with most of them being electronic with the exception of the ballad, Damned and the instrumental traditional song Center World. The sound is the evolution from Turning Leaves, the experimental part of their previous work Cherry Blossom. Among the six original songs the album features covers from REM and Damien Rice, both of which are completely reinterpreted.

The project features collaborations with Jennifer Gray, who is a talented singer from Cleveland, OH and Paolo Pansera, a brilliant photographer from Bergamo, Italy who gives his own interpretation of the music of the band through his pictures taken from the East side of the globe.

The opening track Dead Raccoon is the testimony of a mind status. It was written in Washington, DC, while sitting on the stairs of the Lincoln Memorial, similar to Mont Martre from the first CD which was written while sitting on stairs in Paris, watching the city go by. All of the other songs are love stories which talk about human discoveries and searching for love.

December 2005: Xmas Lunch for Cherry Blossom

The Trees present their new work Cherry Blossom, first project with English lyrics. Written between March 2003 and April 2004 and recorded between April 2004 and November 2005. The band features Gabry as lead guitar on the two tracks, Squeaky Wheel and LTW, Crystal as backing vocal on Angle blue eyes and LTW and AJ as rap singer in In my house.

The Cherry Blossom CD comprises two parts: Indian Summer - acoustic, more similar to the previous work del Vecchio Continente and Turning Leaves - electronic. All the tracks are stories of life. Indian Summer tells the end of a broken love story with the illusion to recover it before it falls apart, just like the few warm days that anticipate the cold winter. Turning Leaves are some other girls bursting into flames and disappearing, just like the color of the leaves. There are also a few stories from England. During the Afternoon Tea at Alberto and Giliola's house during the day of Christmas 2005 the band had the opportunity to present the CD to some of the friends.

December 2005: Cherry Blossom

L’Orca left for Cleveland, OH in the middle of 2003. The lyrics changed from Italian to English. The sound evolved gradually; from electronic drums accompanying acoustic ballads to electronic insertions and noises crossing the path traced by the words in the new work "Cherry Blossom", released in 2005.

The CD contains tracks dated up to the middle of 2004, and is presented in two parts: Indian Summer (www.myspace.com/thetreesindiansummer), with the acoustic imprinting of the origins, and Turning Leaves (www.myspace.com/thetreesturningleaves), strongly infused with electronic influences. All the tracks are stories of life. Indian Summer tells the end of a broken love story with the illusion to recover it before it fells apart - just like the few warm days that anticipate the cold winter. Turning Leaves are some girls catching fire and disappearing, just like the color of the leaves. There are also a few snapshots of English life, resulting from Leo's experience in the UK. The contact with the Cleveland music scene has had significant consequences on L’Orca's singing style and to the entire sound of the group. The work of L’Orca and Leo at opposite ends of the ocean, has led to a mix of different musical impressions and musical compositions, influenced by two different cultures.

July 2003: Del Vecchio Continente by Gli Alberi

The unplugged activity was carried out intermittently until 2003, when Leo and L’Orca decided to give a new impulse to this world, working under the name of The Trees. After a couple of years spent in Vancouver (BC), L’Orca was greatly inspired to tell new stories. These were fused together with the mellow sound of the acoustic guitar, and with electronic loops in their first work: "Del Vecchio Continente", in Italian.

January 2003: Godiva Acoustic Play Together Again

Leo, L’Orca and Naisna played an acoustic session for a group of friends in Carpi, (MO), Italy. The concert was made by a very carefully chosen list of covers and a few of the old songs. Naisna played some of his solo repertoire. The performance was exceptionally powerful and entertaining.
